St. Anthony’s Church, Vakola is one of Mumbai’s largest churches which also runs a boys high school and girls convent. Besides education and religious services, its priests and sisters run a number of social services which are free and without discrimination of religion, caste, etc. in the area.
2021 happened to the centenary year for this church and there was felt the need to put out information about its services so that maximum of the general public could benefit. A secondary objective of the website was to be a single point reference for all those involved in religious activities and have an online presence for those who could not due to the COVID pandemic come to church.
* WEBMAN designed a website with Catholic imagery and with pictures captured the 100 years history of the church, those who contributed and its growth over the years and those contactable to date.
* An ‘About Us’ tab described all those involved in church activities (clergy, sisters, community leaders, associations and centers) with contacts too.
* WEBMAN suggested a separate tab ‘Services’ to cover a range of religious and humanitarian activities like – Education, Health, Charity, Women in Need, Self Help Groups, Helplines, Physiotheraphy, etc.
* Finally due to the pandemic since church activities could not be held, there were tabs which featured daily religious services, videos, social media, news and announcements.
It was indeed a delight for all of us to see the St. Anthony’s website so well done by WEBMAN – It seems to be one of the best church website in the country for a religious institution.
The photographs by the professional Glen Dodd took the website to another level all-together. The videos, photo gallery and integration of social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Gallery…. helped a great deal for those homebound due to the pandemic.
